Ice Hockey
The Duchesne Hockey Club (DHC) fields Varsity and B-Teams each season that represents Duchesne High School (DHS). DHC is a not-for-profit organization and is non-school sponsored club.
Ages
The Varsity program is for players who are going into grades 9-12. The B-Team program is for players grades 7-10 also meeting the requirements of 14U Bantams in youth hockey. For the 2024-2025 season the B-Team will include the following birth years: 2009, 2010, and 2011.
Where
Varsity and B-Team games will be held at St. Louis regional rinks.
Practices are held at Wentzville Ice Arena and the Mills Ice Zone.
When
Registration for Varsity and B-Team will start in July.
Practices for Varsity and B-Team will start in September.
Varsity league games start in November and end in January. Playoffs run through February.
B-Team only practices will start in April and run through the end of June.
B-Team league is typically run the second week of April through then end of June.
Practices
Varsity practices will be held Sundays and Thursdays from September through February.
B-Team will share ice with Varsity from September through October.
Varsity will hold full ice practices on Tuesdays from November through February. B-Team will transition to once-a-week practice on Sundays.
B-Team only practices will be held once-a-week April through June.
No DHC ice in March.
DHC will have ice two days a week:
- Sundays 7:10 pm @ Wentzville Ice Arena
- Tuesdays 9:00 pm @ Mills Ice Zone
First practice will be Tuesday 9/3
Games
The Varsity and B-Teams each play in the Mid-States High School Hockey league. Varsity regular season league play is typically 20 games.
B-Team plays 10 games plus practice games.
Tournaments
Both Varsity and B-Team will participate in a tournament. The tournament cost is included in the DHC fees.
Jerseys
Varsity jerseys are an additional cost and will need to be purchased by the player's family. Helmets must be black or dark blue and will be the responsibility of each player.
The cost is approximately $250 a player. This cost includes home and away jerseys and socks and a logo garment bag.
New players or players needing replacement jerseys will be coordinated and ordered by a DHC Board Member. Jerseys are purchased through Fishers Sporting Goods.
B-Team jersey is included in the fees and will be returned at the end of the season. A fee of $75 will be applied to players account if Jersey are not returned. Socks will be the responsibility of each player.
DHC practice jerseys are included for both teams and will be returned at the of the season.
Required Documents
Mid States Requirements
Academic Eligibility - All Varsity/B-Team players need to have their previous school year's report card or transcript uploaded prior to the start of practice. This can be done as part of the club registration process. Mid-States requires that all high school players have passed at least three credits of classes in the most recently completed semester.
Safe Sport - REQUIRED SAFESPORT TRAINING FOR BIRTH YEARS 2007 OR EARLIER. If you are a 2007 birth year or earlier, you will be required to take the SafeSport Core Training or Refresher Course prior to participation for the 2024-25 season.
Submit the following after registration:
- Birth Certificate (New Varsity & B-Team players)
- Report Card (10th-12th grade Varsity players)
- Midstates Medical Consent Form (All players)
- Copy of completed Midstates Player Registration
- Copy of completed SafeSport Training (2006/2007)

- Goalie Player - $1,200
- Varsity Player - $1,700
- Swing Player - $1,800
- B-Team Player - $1,400
Fees include Mid-States fees (cost of ice & referees), coaches fees, practice, practice games and referees, practice jerseys, one in-town tournament, club expenses, fundraising table, and the end of year banquet. Fees do not include Varsity Jerseys. B-Team jersey fees are included in the B-Team Player fees.
Sibling Discount
First player in family pays 100% of the highest playing level, each additional player in the family receives a discount against their level rate.
